Payment Terms

How do the payments work?

Payments are due in two or three payments depending on the time of your booking relative to your charter dates.

If your charter is more than 6 months from your booking date:

  • 25% deposit is required to confirm your charter
  • 25% payment is due 6 months prior to your charter
  • 50% final payment is due 60 days prior to your charter

If your charter is less than 6 months from your booking date:

  • 50% deposit is required to confirm your charter
  • 50% final payment is due 60 days prior to your charter

Which payment methods are accepted?

We accept several different forms of payment with no fees. You can pay by wire transfer, check, Visa, MasterCard, Zelle, CashApp, Venmo and Paypal. We will give a 3% discount if paying via wire transfer. For your convenience, we can split the payments between your group members.

What if I need to change/cancel my charter?

Rescheduling

At Blue Cat Charter’s discretion, Charterer may request modifications or changes to reservations if more than 14 days from departure time. All charter modifications, requests and changes must be approved by charter management. All payments received and cleared may be reapplied at no additional cost with complimentary rescheduling of charter departure time or date if hazardous weather1 conditions exist at time of charter.

Cancellations

You may cancel up to 60 days prior to your charter departure date. Written notice is required (email is acceptable, but you must get an email reply from us confirming the cancellation).  Refund requests made 60 days prior to departure date are subject to a merchant processing and administrative fee of 10% of amount paid. If the reservation is cancelled less than 60 days from departure date, all payments made are nonrefundable with exception to day charter hazardous weather1 conditions. If canceled less than 60 days from your charter departure date, the total charter fee will be charged and is non-refundable unless day charter hazardous weather1 exists at time of departure. Failure to pay your charter balance in full 60 days prior to your departure date will result in cancelation of booking and forfeiture of deposit or payments made.

1 Hazardous Weather Conditions:  If hazardous weather is a factor, it is the Captain’s sole discretion as to if and when it is safe to travel by boat. In order for the charter to be cancelled or terminated early

  • Hazardous weather conditions must exist at time of departure.
  • Storms falling into the categories of all the below conditions that have their epicenter passing within 30 miles of the charter start or end location.
  • Storms that are labeled “hazardous” and forecasted to last more than 4 hours in duration effecting the charter path.
  • Advisories issued for the charter path with winds exceeding 30 mph and or wave swells beyond 3 feet in height.

Non-Cancellable Conditions:

Scattered showers, overcast conditions or a forecasted “chance of rain” are not considered cancellable weather conditions. News stories or media coverage that highlight a current event or sensationalize local developments with weather, tourism risks, medical risks, or other travel related “warnings” that are not official state or federal restrictions to travel are not considered cancellable conditions.

Refund Processing Fees:

In the event that charter hazardous weather conditions exist and rescheduling is not a possibility, payments made will be returned minus the merchant processing and administrative fee of 10% of amount paid.

Unforeseen Unavailability of Charter Vessel

Prior to Charter:  In the event of mechanical problems or the vessel is damaged or otherwise inoperable, Blue Cat Charters will either (a) find a comparable or better vessel and keep the charter dates as is, (b) offer some alternate dates for the charterer to choose from, or (c) refund the prepaid amount of the charter.

During Charter:  In the event of mechanical problems or the vessel is damaged or otherwise inoperable, Blue Cat Charters will either refund the remaining amount of the charter on a pro-rated basis or offer the Charterer a credit or discount on a future charter.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance is optional, but we highly recommend it.

We hope that your trip is relaxing and worry-free, but, just in case a situation arises before departure or during your trip that are out of your control, having travel insurance can be a valuable asset. When purchasing trip insurance, please make sure that the policy you choose provides coverage for your insurance needs. This may include:

  • Medical coverage
  • Delayed or canceled flights
  • Lost or damaged luggage
  • Cancelling the trip for any reason
